Healing Joint Pain

If you are more than 25, you might have suffered from some type of joint pain. The bad news is that as we grow older, we are more likely to suffer from consistent joint pain of some type. If you play sports, jog or weight train, you are bound to suffer from tendinitis at some time or other and as you grow older, arthritis becomes a reality. Nearly 68% of population above 65 is suffering from arthritis. It can be very incapacitating. With computers being used in all walks of life, we are likely to have tendinitis in our fingers and wrists, others can have lateral epicondylitis or tennis elbow if their work involves any sort of lifting.

The good news is today there are supplements and therapies to treat the pain. Before you begin any treatment for your joint pain, better consult a doctor to decide the nature of joint pain you have and find out the various healing options.

These are certain things you can do to get relief from the pain and begin healing:

v Rest: Take a break from sports or activities that can irritate your joints. Allow sufficient time for it to heal.

v Massage: Get a massage from a professional or gently massage your joints by yourself.

v Hot and Cold Therapies: Apply heat pads and/or ice on the area to relieve the pain and reduce inflammation.

v Stretching and Exercise: Physical therapy that involves stretching and strengthening the muscles and tendons is important for pain relief and healing.

v Supplements: Supplements containing nutrients known as chondroprotective agents and include glucosamine and chondroitin are essential for healthy joint structure and working.
